The entry into the French National Archives of 126 pages of manuscripts by Robespierre provides the opportunity to carry out a critical examination of the publication of his complete works by the Société des études robespierristes. A codicological description needs to be conducted, together with a study of the manuscripts, from the point of view of textual genetics (avant-textes, corrections, resumptions and revisions prior to publication- or not!-, successive editions). It could lead to a thorough re-assessment of Robespierre as an author, from his beginnings to his last manuscript, putting him in a different light and perhaps illuminating certain questions that have not yet been resolved.
