This study tries to solve a mystery, that of the meeting between a writer (Pierre Michon) and one of his critics (Jean-Pierre Richard). After examining the concepts of emportement – getting carried away – and autolégende – the legend of the ego – and then certain theological motifs derived from the notions of filiation and incarnation, the writer formulates the hypothesis that this meeting is first of all a matter of rhythm.
